Happy Week 18 everybody!
For those of you who are new to the party, I've decided to take on the task of learning or writing one new song every week in 2011. I've been moving right along so far, and having a lot of fun in the process.
This week I bring you a little gem from Paul Simon's 1983 album Hearts and Bones. This song was set as the b-side to "Think too Much (a)" which received little commercial success for the powerhouse songwriter and performer. Simon is one of my favorite artists and his songs (solo and with Garfunkel) make up a large portion of my repertoire.
Of course, Simon makes this stuff look easy, but this one had a few tricky parts in the melody. I'm still working with it as I'm not feeling as solid on it as I'd like, but I felt it was good enough for my farmers marker gigs and to share here and get some feedback.
Recorded on my Motorola Droid X and played on my Taylor 716ce-LTD. Mr. Frog is absent once again. My wife and I are house-sitting this week and we had to leave somebody in charge of the turtles at our apartment. Thanks for watching!
Bel isi,
-kyle
